Creating custom house portraits allows me to combine two passions in one... the love of house architecture and watercolor paint. Having grown up in an old Victorian clapboard home, in a Brooklyn neighborhood filled with grand old houses, I was bit by the 'house bug' at an early age. Each portrait I create has great meaning to me, as I study the details of the structure and incorporate the love of the home into the painting.
How it works to create your custom portrait:
You will email me photos of your home. A few showing details, like the door or front lights, are helpful too.
Most shots looks best if taken on a sunny day.
Then I will sketch your home in pencil and email you the sketch for approval.
When the sketch is approved I will ink the drawing and then begin painting.
Average time frame for completion is 2/3 weeks.

Your completed custom portrait will ship in a mat, with stiff backing board, in a clear acid free sleeve for protection. Size options are 8x10 in 11x14 mat and 11x14 in 16x20.
I started doing house portraits when I was in school for family and friends. Originally creating them in ink with no color. Eventually as I fell in love with watercolor painting, I brought the two together. Still mostly for friends and family, then by word of mouth. When my daughter was young I created one as a fund raiser for her school, and I realized how much I missed making them, and how much I enjoyed seeing a home owner's face when they saw the completed piece! By coming back to house portraits, I have literally come home!
I am grateful for being given the opportunity to renew this love, and grateful for each client who trusts in me to honor their home with a portrait.
